The sending clinic releases your embryos with the consents both clinics need. A courier collects them in a sealed dry vapour shipper and signs a chain of custody form. The courier stays with the shipper until the receiving lab checks the seal and signs. The receiving clinic then decides when to thaw or transfer.
What should I look for in the best IVF courier?
Look for a named person who travels with your material the whole way, a signed chain of custody form with seal numbers, a written no-X-ray procedure, a temperature log for the trip, and a clear quote that says what is excluded. You should also be able to speak to both clinic labs before you book.
